Highgate Bed and Breakfast is close to a number of activities and attractions.
Touring
We are within easy reach of many 'tourist attractions' such as the black sands of the wild west coast, the glow worm caves of Waitomo, rock climbing at Wharapapa, a day visit to the bubbling mud of Rotorua, the Maungatuatari Native Bird sanctuary and more.
Golf
The very picturesque Pirongia 18 hole golf course is at the bottom of our road (2mins) and there are 10 golf courses within 40min. drive from home.
Tramping/hiking
There are many kms of well mapped tracks around Mt Pirongia alone ranging from easy to difficult with a hut at the summit in which one can stay and explore more.
Drop off and pick up to and from the tracks on Mt Pirongia available from Highgate.
Cycling
Highgate B&B is quite handy to most of the cycling events held in this district. We have a garage in which to safely store the bikes and plenty of hills for training!
